The History of CalBody Steel Forming

In 1943, William Rosemond founded California Body and Trailer Manufacturing Company in San Francisco, CA. When it was founded the company made truck and trailer bodies.

Under the leadership of second generation partners Jack Gregory and Bruce Rosemond, CalBody evolved into a job shop performing steel fabrication work in its South of Market facilities until early 2000.

In its third generation, the company relocated to Benicia and performs mainly custom work, fabricating steel to specifications of customers throughout Central and Northern California. In August of 2007, Calbody welcomed its fourth generation as Brian Gregory became a part of our team working in the shop.

CalBody Steel Forming manufactures everything from "just in time" components for telescopic conveyors used in the high reach industry, to custom stair pans, edge form, and other miscellaneous building components. Managing member Matt Rosemond describes it as quick turn-around job shop work for the construction industry, as well as "affiliate production work" for larger equipment manufacturers.

For over 60 years, CalBody's goal on every order has been to provide high quality and reliable service delivered to your shop at a competitive price.
